The Group Exercise program at InsideHigherEd is designed to promote physical activity and healthy behaviors among our community members. As a Group Exercise Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering safe and effective group exercise classes to participants of all fitness levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead group exercise classes that cater to diverse fitness levels and interests
  • Build strong relationships with participants to promote a sense of community and accountability
  • Provide clear instructions and demonstrations of exercises, as well as modifications and progressions for participants with varying fitness levels
  • Monitor participant attendance and report data using our software system
  • Ensure a safe and clean environment for participants by promoting proper use of equipment and adhering to gym safety guidelines
  • Collaborate with our fitness and wellness team to promote campus recreation programs and services
  • Perform CPR and administer first aid in case of emergencies
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in group exercise instruction

Requirements

  • Accredited and current group fitness instructor certification
  • CPR/AED certification
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
