Pacific Catch is seeking a proficient Financial Operations Manager who is committed to delivering exceptional service to both our Guests and colleagues, ensuring high-quality hospitality. This position serves as a financial and strategic partner to the Senior Director of Accounting and the Chief Financial Officer, overseeing all accounting functions. The ideal candidate should possess substantial experience as an accounting supervisor with in-depth knowledge of managing financial and accounting systems.

Reporting Structure

Reports to the Senior Director of Accounting.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position, typically requiring work from Monday to Friday, with occasional evening and weekend shifts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborates with the Controller to ensure timely and precise monthly and annual financial reporting
  • Oversees daily operations of the accounting team
  • Prepares journal entries with necessary documentation
  • Reviews and approves journal entries and related evidence submitted by team members
  • Conducts complex accounting calculations and reconciles accounts
  • Assists the Controller in analyzing discrepancies between budgeted and actual reports
  • Contributes to the development and improvement of policies, processes, and internal controls
  • Participates in documenting accounting policies and procedures
  • Leads the monthly reconciliation process for balance sheets to ensure audit-ready reconciliations
  • Assists in preparing documentation for audits
  • Stays informed on GAAP and industry best practices, recommending and implementing necessary changes
  • Mentors and guides team members, providing training and support
  • Assists in training personnel outside the accounting department on company systems
  • Manages assigned projects and responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • 3-5 years of management experience in accounting within the multi-unit retail sector
  • CPA certification preferred but not required
  • Thorough understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Skilled in analyzing complex financial data
  • Advanced proficiency in spreadsheet applications, including MS Excel and Google Sheets
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, capable of conveying financial information to non-financial professionals
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and strong organizational skills
  • Able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
  • Experience with general ledger accounting software required (familiarity with Restaurant365 is a plus)
Compensation
  • Annual salary range: $80,000 - $100,000
