About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Account Executive to join our dynamic sales team at Hearst Television. As an Account Executive, you will be responsible for selling advertising space to local businesses and negotiating rates with ad agencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Revenue Generation: Produce revenue across all available platforms, including television, web, and other digital media.
  • Business Development: Prospect, contact, and present to new businesses to develop new revenue streams.
  • Account Management: Manage an active account/client list, ensuring strong relationships and consistent revenue growth.
  • Sales Strategy: Conceptualize, create, and deliver sales proposals that align with station strategies and meet client needs.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Local Sales Manager and other team members to achieve individual and team sales goals.
Requirements
  • Media Sales Experience: 1+ years in media or digital sales, or a similar sales field.
  • New Business Development: Experience with developing new business and non-traditional revenue streams.
  • Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills to secure deals with ad agencies and clients.
  • Customer Focus: Experience in a consultative customer-focused business atmosphere, with a strong understanding of client needs.
  • Goal-Oriented: Accountability within a goal-structured organization, with a proven track record of meeting sales targets.
  • Team Player: Must be a team player, with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Sales Skills: Experience selling to business owners and understanding of qualitative research to inform sales efforts.
  • Technical Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to learn proprietary software.
  • Driver's License: Must possess a driver's license with a good driving record.
