Job Overview:

Stellar Solutions is seeking a proficient Mission Payload Specialist / Electro-Optical Engineer to contribute to the advancement of innovative space missions for the Space Rapid Capabilities Office.

Position Summary:

The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership and problem-solving skills, showcasing a track record of delivering exceptional results within a dynamic and high-stakes environment. This role requires the application of advanced principles and theories to highly classified systems, along with the ability to communicate complex findings effectively to management and executive leadership.


Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will provide System Engineering Technical Assistance (SETA) to the Space RCO. The Space RCO is a key acquisition organization within the US Space Force, focusing on the rapid delivery of pioneering systems to meet urgent operational needs.

Each project is managed by small, agile teams composed of program managers, technical experts, contracting personnel, finance specialists, and security professionals, all working collaboratively to ensure project success.


Specific Duties Include:
  • Support the design, interpretation, and analysis of technical solutions for complex optical payloads.
  • Lead or assist in technical programs and projects requiring engineering oversight.
  • Ensure timely completion of tasks within budgetary constraints.
  • Provide insights to the government customer regarding risks to performance, schedule, and budget.
  • Guarantee that deliverables meet or exceed established quality standards.
  • Conduct engineering research and development in alignment with design and customer specifications.
  • Oversee the technical aspects of major projects or programs.
  • Coordinate with various partners to ensure support for delivery milestones.
  • Monitor design trades and assess impacts on cost, schedule, and technical requirements.
  • Develop and supervise requirements from project inception to completion.
  • Offer strategic advice and technical guidance to program and project teams.
  • Analyze data to provide recommendations for improvements and optimizations.
  • Communicate findings clearly and accurately, both orally and in writing.

Required Qualifications:

A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the DoD/IC or relevant industry is required, with expert knowledge in the development and deployment of EO payloads and systems.

Experience with advanced spacecraft EO payloads and an understanding of the space operational environment is essential.

Familiarity with space mission engineering, development, and manufacturing processes is also required.


Desired Qualifications:

Fifteen (15) years of relevant experience is preferred, along with experience in providing SETA to government program offices.

Knowledge of rapid prototyping, ground mission planning systems, and ACAT I/II level acquisition programs is advantageous.


Education:

A degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program or possession of a Professional Engineering license is required. A relevant MA/MS/ME degree is preferred.


Clearance Requirements:

Active TOP SECRET clearance with SCI and SAP eligibility is mandatory. Candidates must maintain a TS/SCI clearance as a condition of employment.
