Job Overview:

Boeing is on the lookout for a Junior Optical Systems Engineer to join our innovative team. This role is focused on supporting the development of advanced optical concepts and systems. In this position, you will collaborate with a team of highly skilled engineers across various disciplines, working on cutting-edge adaptive optics and imaging systems. This is a unique opportunity to receive mentorship from industry leaders.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in creating architectures for integrating systems and components into comprehensive platforms.
  • Support trade studies, modeling, and simulations to assess component and system performance, optimizing designs based on established criteria.
  • Participate in defining and executing tests to validate design performance against requirements, including optical metrology and system integration tests.
  • Work collaboratively with teams to validate complex system designs, with occasional night shifts required.

All work is conducted onsite to meet security protocols. This role requires the ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance, necessitating U.S. Citizenship.


Basic Qualifications:

A Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science from an accredited institution.

Experience in modeling or simulating Electro-Optical and Infrared systems using technical computing languages such as Matlab or Mathematica.

Familiarity with the design, development, testing, and troubleshooting of advanced electronic systems, including Electro-Optical Guidance Systems.


Preferred Qualifications:

Possession of an active Secret Clearance.

Experience with adaptive optics systems and optical system design and integration.


Education & Experience:

This is an entry-level position, typically requiring a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical education and experience.


Work Environment:

This position does not offer relocation benefits and is classified as a first-shift role.
