Job Summary:

BlueHalo Labs is seeking an experienced FPGA Design Engineer to join our team in Albuquerque, NM. As an integral member of our BlueHalo Spacetech team, you will play a crucial role in developing high-performance electromechanical, electro-optic, control, and communication systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop general-purpose and mission-specific firmware for our cutting-edge systems.
  • Develop and maintain firmware for peripheral interfaces, ensuring seamless integration with our hardware components.
  • Collaborate with our team to develop and implement digital signal processing algorithms using System on Chip (SoC) or Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) in combination with General Purpose Processors (GPPs) and microcontrollers.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience using Xilinx devices (Zynq, Virtex/Kintex) and toolchains (Vivado/ISE).
  • Proven expertise in designing using hardware description languages (VHDL or Verilog).
  • Knowledge of serial communication protocols and standards.
  • Experience with multiple clock-domain digital design techniques.
  • Proficiency in using in-system debuggers and logic analyzers.
  • Experience designing and managing FPGA physical constraints.
  • Experience with Tool Command Language (TCL).
  • Demonstrated ability to take VHDL or Verilog designs to a hardware environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Xilinx SoC devices.
  • Familiarity with Microchip devices (RTAX, ProASIC, RTG4).
  • Familiarity with FPGA floorplanning techniques.
  • Familiarity with Xilinx System generator.
  • Familiarity with other computing languages (C/C++, Python, Java).
