Position Overview


The HVAC Service Sales Representative plays a vital role in driving the growth and profitability of the HVAC Service division. The selected individual will be tasked with initiating, developing, and nurturing profitable service relationships with new clients for Johnson Controls.

The primary focus will be on promoting renewable maintenance agreements as the foundational element for establishing these connections.

The representative will operate within a designated geographic area, collaborating closely with a local branch office and partnering with sales and operations teams.

Utilizes sales tools to strategize and document sales progress while identifying business opportunities within existing accounts. The expectation is to secure and finalize business on a monthly basis.

Key Responsibilities


Adheres to a structured and professional approach to identify, target, and qualify potential new clients; leverages market conditions and networks effectively to discover new leads and contacts.


Engages with prospective clients and arranges meetings. Cultivates a referral network to identify new business opportunities.


Conducts sales meetings aimed at uncovering key issues and/or dissatisfaction faced by Facility Directors in managing heating, cooling, ventilation, and control systems.

Creates a sense of urgency to address client needs and positions Johnson Controls as the preferred supplier.

Proposes tailored solutions to meet prospective clients' needs through innovative applications of local branch service capabilities, emphasizing renewable maintenance agreements alongside digital service offerings, sustainability, and decarbonization.

Possesses a deep understanding of the client's business and communicates effectively in their terminology.

Finalizes proposals with clients and secures their commitment to the Johnson Controls solution.


Facilitates customer kick-off meetings, addresses client concerns, creates follow-up opportunities, maintains service agreements, extends service contracts, and supports the collections process.

Keeps management updated on progress and account status using Johnson Controls tools and other methods. Recognizes when to seek assistance from management to ensure the sales process remains on track.

Develops and executes territory marketing strategies aligned with the Johnson Controls Building Solutions business objectives. Participates in trade shows and engages in professional organizations.

Represents Johnson Controls with professionalism by conducting business in accordance with the highest standards of quality, integrity, and performance.

Qualifications

Required:

2-3 years of progressive experience in sales roles.

Preferred:
Technical aptitude with a keen attention to detail.

Exceptional presentation skills, capable of engaging both individuals and groups.

Experience in selling services and intangible products.

Familiarity with sales methodologies, standards, and practices.

Bonus Qualifications:

Knowledge of Building HVAC Systems.

Relevant experience in the field.

Post-secondary education.
