Your role and responsibilities

As the Lead Retirement Benefits Specialist at ABB, you will oversee the delivery of benefit operations across the U.S. and Puerto Rico, manage vendor relationships, and ensure effective benefit program implementation for employees, managers, human resources business partners (HRBPs), and other stakeholders. This role emphasizes collaboration with internal clients and retirement vendors while providing expert knowledge in all facets of retirement plans. Your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Overseeing relationships and evaluating performance against service level agreements with benefit providers.
  • Interpreting and conveying complex benefits regulations and documentation.
  • Consulting with internal clients and vendors to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient resolution of cases.
  • Addressing intricate ServiceNow cases in line with Key Performance Indicators, while delivering exceptional customer service.

Qualifications for the role
  • A relevant Bachelor's degree with 4 or more years of experience in benefits administration or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Comprehensive understanding of defined contribution and defined benefits retirement plans.
  • Knowledge of benefit laws and regulations: ERISA, Benefit Plan Reporting/Filing Requirements.
  • Results-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects, adapt to shifting priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and demonstrated presentation skills.
  • Prior experience with a Human Resources Information System is essential.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect employee privacy.
  • Experience with HCM systems such as SAP and/or Workday is preferred.
  • Candidates must possess valid work authorization to be employed by ABB in the U.S.
