Position Overview:
The Market Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the comprehensive management of the Market and its personnel. This role involves prioritizing and delegating tasks across various departments within the Market. The supervisor is tasked with training staff to ensure exceptional customer service, fostering a loyal clientele. Proficiency in cash handling procedures is essential, as is the ability to instruct team members in these practices.

Key responsibilities include assisting in the management of inventory, maintaining stock levels, ensuring pricing accuracy, merchandising, labor management, and adhering to operational and financial standards.


Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, communicate, and implement all Market policies and procedures.
- Monitor compliance with policies and procedures, adjusting as necessary to align with organizational goals.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and documentation for team members, promoting a constructive team atmosphere.
- Hold supervisors accountable for their daily responsibilities.
- Provide training as needed and ensure proficiency in the POS system among employees.
- Maintain adequate inventory levels, including ordering, stocking, and pricing.
- Train staff on proper cash and credit handling procedures.
- Prepare accurate sales and financial reports on a daily, monthly, and annual basis.
- Efficiently manage multiple tasks while fostering positive working relationships.
- Educate customers and ensure new employees are knowledgeable about the company’s tourism offerings and cultural heritage.
- Keep direct reports informed of any issues or concerns.
- Ensure timely and accurate communication with employees as appropriate.
- Perform additional work-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills:
- Previous leadership experience in grocery or retail sales is preferred.
- Ability to make informed financial and operational decisions related to grocery sales.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and manage escalated situations.
- Capacity to remain composed and focused under pressure.

- Proven ability to lead, coach, train, and motivate employees to exceed customer expectations in a prompt and courteous manner.


- Demonstrated capability to train others on the POS system and in all retail sales and merchandising areas.
- Ability to foster a collaborative team environment, manage multiple tasks efficiently, and maintain positive relationships.
- Knowledge of the operations and cultural heritage associated with the Grand Canyon.

Qualifications:
- Previous experience in grocery store management is preferred.
- Familiarity with POS systems or cash handling experience is required.
- High School Diploma or GED is necessary.
- Strong oral communication skills.
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 75 pounds.
- Preference will be given to qualified candidates from the Hualapai Tribe.

Working Environment:
Retail grocery setting. May require lifting merchandise boxes weighing up to 50 lbs. Flexibility to work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays is essential.
