Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Sonar Signal Processing and Algorithm Developer to join our team at the University of Texas at Austin. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sonar signal processing, algorithm development, and target tracking/classification.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement advanced sonar signal processing algorithms for target tracking and classification.
  • Analyze and validate sonar data to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering and research groups, to coordinate ideas and strategies.
  • Serve as a mentor and supervisor to students working on research projects related to sonar signal processing.
  • Travel to support data collection and system evaluation efforts.
Requirements:
  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in sonar signal processing and algorithm development.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Compensation:

The estimated salary range for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
