Job Summary:

As a Field Service Technician at Mazak, you will be responsible for installing and repairing machines and accessories at customer sites. You will provide technical information on the operation or repair of machines and accessories, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for all employees. Your essential duties will include installing machines and accessories, diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and software problems, testing operation, training customers, and completing reports. You will also be required to travel and stay overnight or multiple nights at customer sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install machines and accessories at customer sites, including assembly, leveling, aligning, adjusting, calibrating, and wiring.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and software problems on machines and accessories.
  • Test operation of machines and accessories after installation or repair.
  • Train customers on the functions of machines and accessories.
  • Learn new machine features and accessories as they become available.
  • Complete reports documenting installation, assessment of reported problems, repairs completed, and parts installed.
  • Travel to customer sites, requiring overnight or multiple night stays.
  • Utilize various test equipment for troubleshooting purposes.

Requirements:

  • 2-year technical training in electronics, mechanical, or machine tool assembly.
  • 3-7 years of experience in Field Service.
  • High School Diploma.

Skills:

  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Ability to work independently or in a group to complete tasks.
  • Ability to understand PLC, HYD/Pneumatic circuits, and general computer skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs on a repetitive daily basis and heavier lifting in excess of 50lbs on a periodic basis.
  • Ability to problem-solve depending on the situation.
  • Strong writing and reporting skills.
  • Strong people skills.
