Job Title: Building Maintenance Field Technician

The City of Florence is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Building Maintenance Field Technician to join our Public Services Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing various building components, including equipment, fixtures, and signs.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform snow removal and other maintenance tasks as needed
  • Respond to after-hours emergency calls and provide timely assistance
  • Operate specialty equipment, such as bucket trucks and scissor lifts, safely and efficiently
  • Provide excellent customer service and interact with the public in a professional manner
  • Perform basic electrical, plumbing, and HVAC tasks, including changing outlets, switches, and ballasts, and replacing fixtures, sinks, and drains
  • Use basic carpentry skills to repair and maintain signs and other building components
  • Identify and troubleshoot maintenance issues and provide solutions
  • Manage assigned tasks and generate daily reports
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid driver's license required; Class A CDL license required within 6 months of employment
  • Ability to work safely and follow safety protocols
  • Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods in adverse weather conditions
  • Visual ability sufficient to operate heavy equipment and trucks, observe unsafe conditions, and read and write reports
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with City employees, government officials, and the public
