Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Forklift Service Technician to join our team. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing lift trucks, performing scheduled maintenance, and promoting our service maintenance programs to ensure an optimal customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair faulty equipment, applying knowledge of functional operation and systems to identify the extent and cause of malfunction.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance efficiently and effectively, adhering to company procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of all service work and repairs performed, ensuring timely submission of paperwork.
  • Collaborate with the service dispatcher and manager to maximize labor revenue and efficiency within the work schedule.
  • Be flexible with your work schedule to accommodate customer needs and receive ongoing on-the-job training and coaching.
  • Maintain company-supplied service vans and uniforms in a clean and organized fashion, as well as an accurate inventory of tools and parts.
  • Operate a lift truck for testing and demonstrations, adhering to correct operation instructions.
  • Communicate and work with the Parts and Sales departments to ensure customer needs are met, and immediately report any potential customer issues.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times, communicating in a professional manner while showing respect to customers and other company personnel.
  • Demonstrate good judgment and personal attitude, essential to maintaining our company's reputation for results-oriented service, goodwill, and professionalism.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum one to three years' relevant experience and/or training preferred.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude.
  • Knowledge in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, and general equipment operation theory.
  • Ability to read and interpret electronic and hydraulic diagrams and schematics.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Maintain a clean driving record.
