  • Assess the educational needs of patients; document objectives and indications for home nutrition support when applicable; recommend the appropriate route for nutrition delivery and conduct periodic reassessments throughout the therapy.
  • Customize feeding formulations to accommodate disease-specific requirements and clinical status changes that may influence tolerance and nutrient absorption.
  • Authorize (with physician approval) modifications to nutrition formulas based on clinical evaluations of the patient.
  • Educate patients and their families on specialized diets; instruct patients scheduled for follow-up in clinics on home enteral feeding protocols. Assist with discharge planning for patients requiring home parenteral nutrition.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN) in accordance with state regulations.
  • Ongoing maintenance of RD credentials through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) by completing 75 units of approved Continuing Professional Education every five years.
