We are seeking a Registered Dietitian to join our esteemed team, focusing on specialized patient populations within the Hematology/Oncology department.


Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care:

Conduct thorough evaluations of patients' nutritional health by analyzing relevant information from medical records, patient interviews, and clinical assessments.

Perform nutrition-focused physical examinations to gain insights into patients' dietary needs.

Assess and monitor patient responses to specialized dietary interventions, including oral, enteral, and parenteral nutrition.

Collaborate with the healthcare team to formulate tailored nutrition care plans, ensuring comprehensive support for patients and their families.

Document all findings and recommendations in accordance with established policies and procedures.


Nutrition Education and Professional Development:

Incorporate evidence-based practices into nutrition counseling and education.

Stay informed about the latest trends in clinical nutrition to enhance professional skills through continuous education and participation in relevant events.

Facilitate training sessions and presentations for staff and interns, promoting best practices in pediatric nutrition.

Engage in community outreach initiatives to raise awareness about nutrition services and education.


Administrative Duties:

Adhere to the hospital's service principles, focusing on innovation, excellence, and teamwork.

Contribute to departmental committees and initiatives aimed at improving nutrition services.

Assist in the organization of nutrition-related conferences and events.

Maintain compliance with documentation and productivity standards while managing time effectively.


Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in Dietetics is required; a Master's degree is preferred.

At least one year of clinical experience following completion of a dietetic internship is essential, with pediatric experience being advantageous.

Must possess a Registered Dietitian (RD) credential from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and hold an Illinois State Licensure as a registered dietitian (LDN).

Preferred certifications include Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC) and Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE).
