Position Overview:

Join a prestigious academic healthcare institution as a Clinical Nutrition Specialist I. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating nutritional health, formulating nutrition diagnoses, and creating intervention strategies while monitoring and assessing nutrition care plans in both inpatient and outpatient environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments to develop individualized care plans that address immediate, intermediate, and long-term nutritional goals.
  • Provide education to patients, families, and the healthcare team regarding the benefits of therapeutic diets and nutrition support strategies to enhance and maintain nutritional health.
  • Customize feeding formulations to accommodate specific medical conditions and changes in clinical status that may influence nutrient absorption and tolerance.
  • Collaborate with physicians to authorize modifications to dietary formulas based on clinical evaluations.
  • Instruct patients and their families on necessary dietary modifications when appropriate.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) with completion of an accredited program, dietetic internship, or equivalent experience recognized by the Commission on Accreditation of Dietetic Education (CADE).
  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field with a minimum of 9 years of clinical experience, or a Master's degree with at least 6 years of clinical experience. Candidates with less experience may also be considered.
  • Maintain RD credentials through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) by completing 75 units of approved Continuing Professional Education every five years.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active member of the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics or relevant professional groups.
  • Registered Dietitian III.
  • Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN) in accordance with state regulations.
  • Specialty certifications relevant to clinical practice, such as Certified Specialist in Pediatrics or Certified Nutrition Support Clinician.
