ROLE OF A HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR
As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will play a vital role in the successful execution of infrastructure projects, which may include roadwork, bridges, and site development. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of construction tasks such as paving, excavation, and trenching. With a focus on precision and attention to detail, you will operate heavy machinery efficiently, contributing to the smooth flow of construction activities.
Your daily tasks may involve:
- Performing earthwork and demolition
- Engaging in paving and utility site work
- Executing site grading and road construction
- Installing drainage systems and maintaining roads
- Operating equipment such as asphalt pavers, rollers, excavators, and bulldozers
Safety is paramount, and you will prioritize the well-being of yourself, your coworkers, and the public throughout your work.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in heavy construction is highly desired, particularly in the skilled use of tools and equipment relevant to asphalt paving and utility installation.
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required. A CDL B License with DOT medical card, tanker, and airbrake endorsements is preferred.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a Hoisting Engineer's License (1C & 2A).
- OSHA 10 certification is required; OSHA 30 is preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to pass background checks and drug testing as mandated by federal and/or state regulations.

WORK SCHEDULE
Our peak construction seasons typically occur in the Spring and Fall. Work hours are project-dependent, with most employees averaging over 40 hours during busy periods and varying hours during off-seasons. Standard workdays generally start around 7:00 am and conclude by 5:00 pm.
