Job Summary

Volt is seeking a skilled Facilities Operations Planner and Scheduler to join our team in Meriden, CT. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for planning and recommending schedules for routine and non-routine maintenance of equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with process engineering, facilities operations, and production supervisors to determine scheduling considerations and ensure availability of people and equipment.
  • Develop daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance work schedules based on materials availability, priority of requests, production considerations, and craftsperson time availability.
  • Communicate with the facilities operations inventory specialist to ensure all parts are available or ordered for scheduled work orders.
  • Enter, plan, update, and close shop work orders in SAMS or SAP for accurate accounting and record-keeping.
  • Complete forms and reports relating to planning, scheduling, and completion of work orders to provide information for facilities operations and production personnel.
  • Review actual versus planned work order reports with managers and engineers to ensure effectiveness of the planning and scheduling process and identify problem areas.
Requirements
  • High school or trade school diploma.
  • Planning and scheduling experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong understanding of safety practices and ability to work effectively with people from production, maintenance, suppliers, and engineering.
  • Excellent organization, time management, and communication skills.
  • Experience using MS Office, CMMS, SAP, or other planning software.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed and display a positive, can-do attitude.
