Position Overview

The Arc of Ocean County is seeking a dedicated Full-Time or Part-Time Behavioral Support Technician to assist adults with intellectual and developmental challenges. This role involves delivering individualized behavior therapy services under the guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The technician will implement tailored behavior intervention strategies aimed at promoting positive behaviors while minimizing negative behaviors.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Execute Behavior Intervention Plans effectively.
  • Gather and evaluate data related to behavioral patterns and established intervention strategies.
  • Engage directly with individuals in various program settings.
  • Instruct, mentor, and reinforce behavior modification plans.
  • Apply techniques to mitigate challenging behaviors.
  • Maintain detailed and organized records of participant progress, including notes and reports, under BCBA supervision.
  • Collaborate with all relevant parties, including direct care staff, supervisors, and family members.
  • Keep certification current and stay informed about the latest research and best practices in the field.
  • Ensure the safety and welfare of participants and staff during all interactions.

Qualifications:

Essential qualifications for this role include:

  • Valid Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
  • Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Education, Human Services, or a related discipline.
  • At least 1 year of experience working with adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass state and federal background checks.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) is a plus.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
