About the Role

The Arc of Ocean County is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to join our team. As an RBT, you will play a critical role in providing one-on-one behavior therapy services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement Behavior Intervention Plans: Develop and implement individualized behavior intervention plans to teach and reinforce adaptive behaviors and reduce maladaptive behaviors.
  • Collect and Analyze Data: Collect and analyze data regarding behaviors and established plans to inform treatment decisions.
  • Work Directly with Individuals: Provide one-on-one behavior therapy services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in various settings, including group homes and day programs.
  • Teach and Coach: Teach, coach, and promote behavior plans to individuals and their support teams.
  • Reduce Challenging Behaviors: Implement strategies to reduce challenging behaviors and promote a safe and supportive environment.
  • Document Progress: Document and maintain organized records of participant progress, including notes, reports, and data collection tools.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Collaborate with direct care staff, supervisors, parents, guardians, and other support team members to ensure comprehensive support.
  • Stay Current with Best Practices: Maintain certification and stay up-to-date with the latest research, developments, and trends in behavior analysis to provide best-in-class services.
  • Ensure Safety and Well-being: Ensure the safety and well-being of participants and staff during all sessions.
Requirements
  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification: Must hold a valid RBT certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in psychology, education, human services, or a related field.
  • Experience Working with Adults with Disabilities: Minimum of 1 year of experience working with adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities, preferred.
  • Valid NJ Driver's License: Valid NJ driver's license with no more than 5 points.
  • Background Check: Ability to meet the requirements of state and federal background checks.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with EHR: Experience with an Electronic Health Record (EHR) is preferred.
  • Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
