Job Overview

Position Summary: The Cashier and Sales Associate is responsible for processing transactions and providing exceptional customer service in a retail environment. This role involves handling cash and credit card payments for various products and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately processes customer payments and issues receipts.
  • Verifies cash register totals against cash on hand.
  • Communicates product pricing and features to customers.
  • Utilizes cash register systems to record sales and display transaction details.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies regarding age-restricted products.
  • Manages inventory by pricing and displaying received merchandise.
  • Assists with vendor check-ins and ensures accurate delivery documentation.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of the store, including restrooms and spill management.
  • Responsible for stocking and replenishing merchandise and supplies.
  • Operates lottery machines as required.
  • Performs additional tasks as assigned by management.

Supervisory Role:

This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates should meet the following requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Combination of education and experience will be considered.

Language Proficiency:

  • Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions and communicate effectively.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Proficient in basic arithmetic operations.
  • Ability to handle transactions involving U.S. currency.

Reasoning Skills:

  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and solve straightforward problems.

Additional Skills:

  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to work well with others.
  • Completion of relevant training programs may be required.

Physical Requirements:
