Key Responsibilities of the Retail Banking Sales Supervisor

Responsible for leading and managing the operational and sales initiatives of a community branch. Ensures adherence to established policies and procedures. Oversees the delivery of a comprehensive range of services to members and potential members, ensuring prompt and professional service. Enhances branch profitability by achieving production targets while actively engaging in local events to boost credit union visibility and market share. Trains, directs, and supervises branch personnel, fostering a professional and cohesive work environment.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

25% Act as a liaison for loan processing, ensuring requests comply with established policies and are accurately documented before approval. Responsible for documentation and funding processes, ensuring the branch meets assigned loan and account production targets while demonstrating effective sales skills.

20% Manage direct reports to optimize productivity and efficiency, including hiring, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, coaching, training, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and organizational values. Conduct performance evaluations and provide recommendations for promotions or terminations as necessary.

10% Address and resolve inquiries from both internal and external sources.

10% Build strong relationships with members to ensure we become their trusted financial partner. Ensure timely resolution of member requests and complaints, and keep members informed about credit union services and policies.

10% Actively engage in cross-training initiatives, ensuring that direct reports are well-versed in all aspects of their roles. Facilitate the orientation of new employees regarding branch procedures and conduct ongoing sales coaching.

5% Provide coaching, complete performance assessments, and recommend personnel actions in collaboration with management and HR.

5% Oversee the maintenance and communication of the branch's physical needs, including the building, grounds, equipment, and fixtures.

5% Ensure all branch transactions are balanced at the end of each day, manage ATM servicing as needed, and oversee accountability for cash handling.

5% Prepare and submit month-end reports and retain documents in accordance with procedures. Present quarterly sales reports detailing branch performance, activities, growth, and future plans.

5% Monitor branch operations and support team members with all operational functions, managing daily sales and operations effectively.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Knowledge and Skills

Experience

Two to five years of relevant experience, including time spent in preparatory roles.

Education/Certifications/Licenses

A high school diploma or GED is required. Candidates must maintain active registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System throughout their employment.

Interpersonal Skills

A high level of trust and diplomacy is essential for effective performance in this role. Engaging in in-depth discussions and providing explanations to customers, colleagues, and external vendors is a regular part of the job.

Other Skills

A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required for travel as necessary. Candidates must also be eligible for registration with the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System (NMLS) for mortgage loans.

Physical Requirements

This role primarily involves sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs. Must be capable of climbing or descending stairs in emergencies and operating standard office equipment.

Working Conditions

Work is typically performed indoors in a climate-controlled office with minimal noise.

Mental and Emotional Requirements

Must be able to work independently and as part of a team, effectively plan and direct work activities, and communicate clearly. Ability to handle multiple priorities and maintain composure under pressure is essential.
