Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:
Rappahannock Goodwill Industries is seeking a dedicated Assistant Manager for Retail Operations. In this role, you will support the store manager in overseeing the retail establishment, including the daily functions of both the sales area and processing section. Your efforts will ensure that quality merchandise is accessible to customers in a safe, clean, and appealing environment while striving to meet or surpass sales objectives.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the accurate and timely management of payroll entries, sales data, and employee scheduling.
  • Uphold and promote the standards and policies as detailed in the Employee Handbook and the Standard Operating Procedures Manual.
  • Responsible for the opening and closing procedures of the store, ensuring the security of the premises, including managing the store alarm system.
  • Support in the recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of all retail staff at the designated location.
  • Participate in various store functions as necessary to ensure all operational goals are achieved and to promote cross-training among all store roles.
  • Coordinate scheduling and pickups of ADC centers when required.
  • Ensure that products are processed and displayed on the sales floor every 15 minutes.
  • Maintain ADC centers where applicable.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Availability to work during operational hours as needed, which may include days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in supervising teams.
  • Ability to adapt to change effectively.
  • Strong decision-making skills.
  • Experience in hiring and developing team members.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Work in a moderate environment with occasional exposure to extreme conditions (temperature, noise, fumes, dust, etc.).
  • Availability to work evenings and/or weekends as business needs arise.
