Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:
Rappahannock Goodwill Industries is seeking a dedicated Assistant Manager for Retail Services in Culpeper, VA. In this role, you will support the store manager in overseeing daily retail operations, ensuring that the sales floor and processing areas are well-managed, and that customers have access to quality merchandise in a safe and appealing environment while striving to meet or exceed sales targets.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the accurate and timely management of payroll, sales reports, and employee scheduling.
  • Uphold and implement company standards and policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook and Operational Procedures Manual.
  • Manage store opening and closing procedures, ensuring the security of the premises, including the alarm system.
  • Oversee the hiring, training, and performance evaluation of retail staff at the designated location.
  • Support various store functions as needed to achieve operational goals and promote cross-training among staff.
  • Coordinate scheduling and pickups for ADC centers as required.
  • Ensure that merchandise is processed and displayed on the sales floor consistently.
  • Maintain ADC centers where applicable.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Availability to work during operational hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role.
  • Ability to adapt to change effectively.
  • Strong decision-making skills.
  • Experience in staff recruitment and development.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and frequently carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Work in a moderate environment with occasional exposure to extreme conditions (temperature, noise, dust, etc.).
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as business needs arise.
