Clinical Pharmacy Specialist

Job Summary:
Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacy Specialist to join our team. As a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist, you will serve as a leader in clinical pharmacy practice in abdominal solid organ transplant (kidney, liver, pancreas).
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive clinical and distributive medication management services to patients undergoing abdominal solid organ transplant.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement evidence-based medication guidelines and protocols.
- Participate in the development of clinical guidelines, new programs, and services in the area of abdominal solid organ transplant.
- Precept pharmacy residents, students, and contribute to staff development in the area of specialty practice.
- Provide educational information and seminars to healthcare professionals as needed or assigned.
- Collect and analyze medication-use data and formulate recommendations for implementation.
- Oversee and direct pharmacy support personnel, including daily activities of technicians.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy required; Doctoral degree in Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred.
- License to practice as a pharmacist in Massachusetts required.
- 1-3 years of related work experience required; 1 year of pharmacy residency or 3 years of clinical pharmacy experience in a hospital setting preferred.
- Experience with computer systems, including web-based applications and Microsoft Office applications, required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Pharmacy Residency PGY2 specialty experience or equivalent experience or 5 years of clinical pharmacy experience in a hospital setting.
- Board certification in a Pharmacotherapy specialty.
- Project management and program development experience a plus.
