Key Responsibilities- Prepare and dispense medications, including sterile and non-sterile compounds, in compliance with department policies and procedures.
- Operate advanced automated technology to assist in preparation and documentation of sterile products.
- Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, and inspecting medication and supplies.
- Provide customer service and respond to customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist with financial transactions, including preparing patient billing information and troubleshooting insurance issues.
- Perform quality control activities, including temperature inspections and cycle counts.
- Collaborate with nursing, physicians, and ancillary services to meet the needs of these departments and maintain a positive working relationship.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification.
- Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician Registration.
- One year of pharmacy-related experience.
- Associate's degree.
- Two years of pharmacy-related experience in a hospital setting.
- Ability to walk and stand 90% of the day.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Manual dexterity to operate prescription medications and computer keyboard.
- Ability to be organized and systematic.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to perform work in a timely and efficient manner.
- Knowledge of hazardous substance handling, complex sterile compounding techniques, and mathematical calculations.
