ALS Education LLC is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing support services to students and families, promoting academic success, and fostering a positive school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement support systems to meet students' social, emotional, behavioral, medical, financial, and life skills needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and community agencies to provide counseling strategies and ensure students are emotionally prepared to maximize their instructional time.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with staff, students, families, and community members, conducting skill-building seminars and workshops as needed.
- Secure partnerships with local colleges and universities to establish ALS schools as clinical internship sites for students in social work, mental health, and related programs.
- Support student orientation and provide documentation of services provided to students and families, adhering to ALS policies and procedures.
- Conduct home visits to facilitate home-school connections and coordinate home, school, and community resources to address crisis situations.
- Lead initiatives defined by the School's Mental Health Plan, including outcome reporting and staying informed of current trends, research, and community agency providers.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in social work or a related field, with credentials to serve as a clinical field supervisor for interns.
- Minimum three years of experience working with at-risk youth, preferably in education, social services, or community services.
- Valid driver's license and effective oral and written communication skills required.
- Computer literacy and bilingual skills preferred.
