Job Summary

Fox Valley Technical College is seeking a qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach Horticulture and Landscape courses. The successful candidate will be a dynamic partner for students and the College, modeling FVTC core values and demonstrating commitment to excellence in program/course content and delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, develop, and implement instructional strategies, including alternative delivery methods when appropriate.
  • Assist and advise students with academic matters, including assignments, tests, grades, and career concerns.
  • Research, develop, and administer skills assessments to evaluate student performance.
  • Promote student success through timely communication, growth-based feedback, and implementation of strategies for diverse learners.
  • Comply with college policies and directions regarding student testing, record keeping, and providing grades on a timely basis.
  • Meet professional expectations by maintaining currency and contributing to a collaborative culture.
  • Attend division, department, and advisory committee meetings as requested.
  • Participate in staff development activities, such as diversity awareness and technology training.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the college's mission, vision, and values.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or Associate Degree or equivalent with relevant experience.
  • Minimum of two years of occupational experience in a target job for the program, with at least one year within five years prior to hire.
  • Prior teaching or training experience preferred.
  • Meet FVTC requirements and Higher Learning Commission standards.

  • Knowledge of current educational methods and strategies, including learner-centered instruction and assessment.
  • Skilled in the use of educational technology and alternative delivery methods.

  • Skilled in oral and written communications.
  • Ability to effectively interact with business and industry to establish partnerships.
Additional Information

Hourly pay rate: $45.00. Pay is based on experience, qualifications, education, and market data.
