Job Title: Adjunct Instructor - Horticulture

Job Summary: Fox Valley Technical College is seeking a qualified adjunct instructor to teach horticulture and landscape courses. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in horticulture and the ability to effectively communicate with students.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop, and implement instructional strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Assist and advise students with academic matters, including course content, career concerns, and other academic issues.
  • Research, develop, and administer skills assessments to evaluate student performance.
  • Promote student success through timely communication, growth-based feedback, and implementation of strategies that meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Comply with college policies and directions regarding student testing, record keeping, and providing grades on a timely basis.
  • Meet professional expectations by maintaining professional currency and contributing to a collaborative culture across the College.
  • Attend division, department, and advisory committee meetings as requested.
  • Participate in staff development activities, such as diversity awareness, technology training, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of occupational experience in a target job for the program or programs being taught.
  • Prior teaching or training experience preferred.

Additional Information: Hourly pay rate: $45.00. Pay is based on a multitude of factors, including experience, qualifications, education, relevant certifications, internal equity, and market data.
