Job Title: Adjunct Instructor - Horticulture

About the Role:
Fox Valley Technical College is seeking a qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach Horticulture and Landscape courses. As an Adjunct Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, assessing student learning, and contributing to a collaborative culture across the College.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, develop, and implement effective instructional strategies, including alternative delivery methods.
  • Assist and advise students with academic matters, including course content, career concerns, and other academic issues.
  • Research, develop, and administer skills assessments to evaluate student performance.
  • Promote student success through timely communication, growth-based feedback, and implementation of strategies that meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Comply with college policies and directions regarding student testing, record keeping, and other administrative tasks.
  • Meet professional expectations by maintaining professional currency and contributing to a collaborative culture.
  • Attend division, department, and advisory committee meetings as requested.
  • Participate in staff development activities, such as diversity awareness and technology training.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the college's mission, vision, and values.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Associate Degree or equivalent may be considered with relevant experience).
  • Minimum of two years of occupational experience in a target job for the program or programs being taught.
  • Prior teaching or training experience preferred.
  • Qualified per FVTC requirements and Higher Learning Commission (HLC) standards.

  • Knowledge of current educational methods and strategies, including learner-centered instruction and assessment.
  • Skilled in the use of educational technology and alternative delivery methods.
  • Knowledge and ability to infuse multicultural perspectives into course content and delivery.
  • Skilled in communications and human relations with diverse populations.
  • Ability to effectively interact with business and industry to establish partnerships and address needs.


Additional Information:

Hourly pay rate: $45.00

Pay is based on a multitude of factors, including experience, qualifications, education, relevant certifications, internal equity, and market data.
