Assistant Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience

We are seeking a highly qualified Assistant Professor to join our Department of Psychological Sciences at Texas Tech University. The successful candidate will have expertise in conducting basic human-subjects research in fundamental areas of cognition and cognitive neuroscience, including learning, memory, language, attention, perception, and/or decision-making.
About the PositionThis is a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track position that will begin September 1, 2025. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct independent, productive, and programmatic research, compete for extramural research funding, teach undergraduate and graduate psychology courses, mentor undergraduate and graduate students, and provide service to the department, college, university, and profession.
About the DepartmentThe Department of Psychological Sciences at Texas Tech University is a vibrant and dynamic community of scholars dedicated to advancing our understanding of human behavior and mental processes. Our department offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in psychology, including a Ph.D. in Cognition and Cognitive Neuroscience. We have a strong research focus, with faculty members conducting research in a variety of areas, including cognitive neuroscience, social psychology, and developmental psychology.
Qualifications- Ph.D. in psychology, neuroscience, or cognitive science
- Record of research productivity, including publications, book chapters, and/or grant submissions
- Commitment to teaching excellence, including experience teaching or assisting in a classroom or mentoring students
- Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in cognitive neuroscience
- Ability to conduct basic and/or applied research in areas of fundamental human cognition and cognitive neuroscience
- Ability to employ computational models of human cognitive and/or neural processes in conjunction with other experimental methodologies
- Ability to conduct research with relevance to human health, well-being, and/or adaptive processing
- Ability to compete for extramural research funding
