Job Description

Job Title: Assistant Professor of Architectural Design

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Assistant Professor of Architectural Design to join our faculty at Texas Tech University. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching architecture design studios, developing and teaching lecture and/or seminar courses, and advancing disciplinary knowledge through research and creative activity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach architecture design studios at both undergraduate and graduate levels
  • Develop and teach lecture and/or seminar courses in design communication, architectural design process, site design, and/or technical assembly of buildings
  • Advise MS and Ph.D. students and serve as a chair or member of their committees
  • Conduct research and creative activity in the field of architectural design, with a focus on sustainability and the built environment
  • Participate in college committees, university service, professional service, and community service and engagement

Requirements:

  • Professional degree in Architecture
  • Teaching experience in architectural design studios
  • Evidence or potential for research, publication, and scholarly activities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Post-Professional degree in Architecture
  • Professional experience and/or licensure
  • Demonstrated experience teaching and coordinating undergraduate architectural design studios
  • Research experience or a demonstrated interest pertaining to sustainability of the built environment and architectural design within a context of arid or semi-arid regions or the American Southwest
