About the Position

We are seeking a highly qualified Assistant Professor to join our Department of Psychological Sciences at Texas Tech University. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct independent, productive, and programmatic research in the area of cognition and cognitive neuroscience, with a focus on fundamental human cognition and cognitive neuroscience.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct basic and/or applied research in areas of fundamental human cognition and cognitive neuroscience
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in cognitive neuroscience
  • Compete for extramural research funding
  • Mentor undergraduate and graduate students
  • Provide service to the department, college, university, and profession
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in psychology, neuroscience, or cognitive science
  • Record of research productivity, including publications, book chapters, and/or grant submissions
  • Commitment to teaching excellence, including experience teaching or assisting in a classroom or mentoring students
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to employ computational models of human cognitive and/or neural processes in conjunction with other experimental methodologies
  • Ability to conduct research with relevance to human health, well-being, and/or adaptive processing
