Job Overview

Position: Co-Lead Teacher for Preschool (ages three to four)

Compensation: $37,000 - $42,500 (approximately $20.43/hour)

Role Responsibilities

Under the guidance of the Early Childhood Education Director and Assistant Director, Co-Lead Teachers collaborate to provide a superior educational experience for children and their families. This includes ensuring the educational, safety, hygiene, nutrition, and nurturing needs of children are met while adhering to appropriate treatment and discipline methods.

Co-Lead Teachers are also responsible for maintaining compliance with regulations set forth by the Georgia Department of Early Care Learning, Quality Rated, and NAEYC.

Key Duties
  • Curriculum Development: Design and implement lesson plans aligned with early learning standards, incorporating diverse educational experiences in language, literacy, mathematics, cognitive growth, social-emotional learning, and physical development.
  • Instructional Delivery: Facilitate engaging activities that foster children's understanding of numbers, language, and literacy, while creating connections to weekly themes that resonate with students and their families.
  • Assessment and Record Keeping: Continuously assess and document children's developmental progress using established assessment tools, ensuring timely evaluations and feedback to parents during conferences.
  • Positive Communication: Cultivate strong relationships with children through responsive and culturally sensitive care, while also maintaining open lines of communication with parents regarding their child's daily activities.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with fellow educators and community partners to deliver comprehensive services to students, including therapeutic and developmental support.
Qualifications

Education: Candidates should possess excellent communication skills, proficiency in computer applications (MS Office), and a CDA, AA, or TCC degree in Early Childhood Education or a higher credential in a related field.

Experience: A minimum of two years working with children under six in a licensed childcare setting is required, along with familiarity with state regulations and quality standards.

Physical Requirements

This role involves working in a typical childcare environment, which may include extended periods of sitting, standing, and bending, as well as opportunities for physical movement. Lifting should not exceed 50 pounds.

Work Schedule

Standard work hours are 40 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday, with occasional evening or weekend commitments.
