Job Summary

The YMCA of Metro Atlanta is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Early Childhood Education Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our preschool staff, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for young children to learn and grow.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning and implementing engaging and educational activities for preschool-age children.
  • Provide support to the lead teacher in maintaining a clean and organized classroom environment.
  • Supervise children during all activities, both indoors and outdoors, and ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Observe and record children's progress, identifying areas of strength and need for additional support.
  • Collaborate with the lead teacher to develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians through regular updates and progress reports.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance knowledge and skills in early childhood education.
Requirements
  • CDA (Child Development Associate) credential or degree in early childhood education or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks associated with childcare.
  • Pass a pre-employment background check, including a criminal record check and drug screening.
