Job Summary

The YMCA of Metro Atlanta is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Learning Assistant Teacher to join our team. As a key member of our early childhood education program, you will play a vital role in providing a high-quality educational experience for children and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Development and Implementation: Assist in the development and implementation of curriculum goals and objectives to support early learning standards.
  • Lesson Planning and Delivery: Create and deliver lesson plans that promote language and literacy, math, science, social studies, creative arts, social-emotional, and physical development.
  • Family Engagement and Communication: Foster strong relationships with families through regular communication, parent-teacher conferences, and family-style meals.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure a safe and healthy environment for children, including supervision, health practices, and incident reporting.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Maintain assessment records, conduct Brigance screenings, and provide updates on student development during parent-teacher conferences.
  • Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development, including training sessions, staff development plans, and partnership training requirements.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience working with children younger than five in a state-licensed center.
  • Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to pass a pre-employment background check, and maintain certification in First Aid/CPR and Health & Safety Orientation.
