Position Summary:

The Mobile Outreach Program Manager is a vital member of our Food Distribution Programs team, reporting directly to the Distribution Manager. This role is essential in enhancing the Mobile Market Program, which aims to combat hunger and improve nutrition in underserved areas. The program identifies service gaps within the emergency food network and delivers nutritious food options to communities in need across our extensive service territory.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute all mobile market initiatives to boost access and engagement in the Mobile Market Program.
  • Manage a designated portfolio of mobile market partnerships, including onboarding, training, audits, and achieving set objectives.
  • Assist in designing and overseeing the monthly operational schedule for the Mobile Market Program.
  • Coordinate mobile market distributions, including event planning, oversight, and compliance audits.
  • Collaborate with various organizations and nonprofits to organize efficient distribution events, managing logistics such as registration, volunteer coordination, traffic management, and food safety.
  • Support operational functions including warehouse management, inventory control, and transportation logistics to ensure successful mobile market events.
  • Address community concerns related to mobile distributions, including resolving grievances and troubleshooting issues.
  • Ensure adherence to guidelines in market implementation, collecting relevant data in compliance with Feeding America, USDA, TDA, and other necessary regulations.
  • Monitor compliance in areas such as client intake, food distribution equity, food safety, and customer service.
  • Provide assistance and direction to all participants during mobile market events.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution preferred; relevant experience may substitute for formal education; high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in nonprofit programming or related fields, including direct client service experience preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Strong commitment to the mission of the San Antonio Food Bank in fighting hunger and promoting hope through action.
  • Understanding and appreciation of equity as a core organizational principle, with a commitment to ongoing learning regarding diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Knowledge of racial justice, social equity, and systemic racism; sensitivity to the issues faced by communities of color and other diverse groups.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications, primarily Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Professional demeanor with a high level of literacy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and meeting strict deadlines.
  • Efficient time management skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Sound judgment and discretion.
  • Excellent customer service capabilities.
  • Willingness to travel within the service territory and proficiency in using GPS for navigation.
  • Availability for flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, to support disaster response initiatives.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, and wet environments.
  • Possession of a valid Texas driver's license, liability insurance, and a clean driving record.
  • Access to reliable transportation.
