Key Responsibilities:

The Senior Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis is responsible for overseeing all organizational activities related to the annual operating and capital budgets, financial forecasting, the multi-year capital strategy, and internal financial reporting and analysis processes for the organization. This position will provide actionable insights to the Executive Team and Board of Trustees based on factual data, both internal and external, that guide the strategic financial direction of the organization.

  • Provide thought leadership and implement best practices for financial management across the organization.
  • Conduct management reporting and financial analysis for all markets and segments, including the development of Management, Discussion & Analysis (quarterly and annually).
  • Oversee all aspects of administrative expense management.
  • Collaborate with Actuarial, Strategy, and Performance Management teams in developing forecasts, budgets, and multi-year financial plans.
  • Benchmark company-wide and industry expenses, including basic economic forecasting.
  • Work closely with Senior Management to communicate the drivers of financial results and related performance improvement initiatives.

This pivotal role involves regular interaction with executive and senior management to discuss budgetary and financial implications of operational matters. The SVP of Financial Planning & Analysis will also lead organizational development, fostering a high-performing team throughout the organization. This position will drive the enhancement of processes that provide leaders and stakeholders with clear visibility into their financial performance, enabling informed decision-making that supports the success of their business or function. The role ensures that solutions and improvements deliver optimal customer experiences while aligning with and executing strategic goals and objectives.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree.
  • 15+ years of progressively responsible finance experience (experience in managed care or health care is preferred).
  • A minimum of 5 years in a Senior Leadership role.
  • Preferred experience in forecasting, transformation, strategic planning, and financial modeling.
  • Strong preference for experience in a large, multi-market, multi-product health insurance organization, including Medicaid financial management experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate financial and operational data into actionable insights and business implications.
