Position Summary

As a Manufacturing Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to spearhead enhancements and modifications to manufacturing processes and protocols within the industrial facility, aiming to establish optimal work methodologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement sound ergonomic and safety practices throughout all facets of the manufacturing process, equipment, and facilities.
  • Develop, assess, and refine manufacturing techniques utilizing data collection, analytical evaluation, and practical experience.
  • Investigate new technologies and processes to bolster manufacturing efficiencies, productivity, cost reductions, and product quality.
  • Create capital cost justifications for new product tooling, equipment, and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Analyze and strategize workforce utilization, spatial requirements, and workflow, designing equipment and workspace layouts for maximum efficiency.
  • Contribute as a member of the Product Development System (PDS) team, ensuring that design for manufacturability (DFM), tooling, and equipment needs are met for effective manufacturing processes and successful product launches.
  • Engage with vendors to ascertain product specifications and coordinate the procurement of equipment, materials, or components, evaluating products against established specifications and quality standards.
  • Estimate production timelines, staffing needs, and associated costs to inform management decisions.
  • Collaborate with management, engineering, and other personnel regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other factors to facilitate production processes.
  • Understand and apply Lean Manufacturing principles, including Continuous Improvement, Blitzes, KanBan, Line Balancing, TPM, and Takt Time.
  • Work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment with engineers, supervisors, and manufacturing staff, promoting core company principles such as Quality and Lean Manufacturing.
  • Coordinate closely with maintenance teams to troubleshoot issues as necessary and assist with equipment installation and setup.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience or training.
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and other Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Proficient in reading, analyzing, and interpreting general business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Capable of writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
  • Effective in presenting information and addressing inquiries from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Skilled in mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, and the fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry.
  • Adept at applying concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical scenarios.
  • Proficient in defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
