Job Responsibilities

Technical Specialists are tasked with the design, development, installation, and maintenance of equipment utilized for monitoring and controlling systems, machinery, and processes. They operate across various applications, including industrial controls, cybersecurity, building automation, water/wastewater management, power controls, energy management, and transportation systems. These specialists are experts in advanced process control, instrumentation, distributed control systems, PLCs, and SCADA systems, employing their skills to devise solutions for complex customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

Design and Engineering

  • Develops design documentation for small-scale projects and supports larger programs.
  • Collaborates with Senior Engineers in the preparation of designs, including:
    • Requirements analysis
    • Subsystem designs (CAD, Panels, Layouts, Wiring, SCADA Screens, Hardware, Communications)
    • Comment resolution
    • Programming, configuring, and troubleshooting PLCs, RTUs, and/or HMI systems

Testing, Troubleshooting, Deployment, and Commissioning

  • Assists senior engineers in creating and updating testing and commissioning protocols.
  • Prepares test reports.
  • Originates testing procedures.
  • Commissioning of deployed systems.
  • Develops test fixtures and simulation devices.
  • Conducts Factory and Field Testing.

Maintenance

  • Performs troubleshooting on service calls for existing and legacy system operators.
  • Executes hardware and software upgrades and replacements on current systems.

Qualifications

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, automation engineering, or a related field with 0+ years of experience.
  • Associate's degree in electrical engineering, automation engineering, or a related field with 4+ years of experience.
  • High School Diploma with 6+ years of experience.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work on computer screens for extended periods.
  • Capable of sitting for long durations.
  • Manual dexterity for manipulating objects.
  • Effective listening and communication skills.
  • Strong reading comprehension abilities.
  • Problem-solving skills to apply general rules to specific issues.
  • Willingness to attend regular in-person meetings with clients.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and vehicle for transportation.
