Are you passionate about quality assurance in a dynamic manufacturing setting? Our client is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Quality Assurance Engineer with at least 3 years of relevant experience.


ABOUT THE COMPANY:

Our client operates as a comprehensive tier one supplier within the automotive sector, focusing on the design and production of injection molded components and electrical equipment.

The facility in Ohio is equipped with advanced capabilities in mold design, production engineering, and a dedicated workforce in Quality, Assembly, Sales, and Customer Service.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Manufacturing Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining production standards and ensuring compliance with customer quality expectations by investigating and resolving quality issues.

  • Conduct product audits and analyze defect trends using quality information and statistical methods.
  • Investigate internal quality concerns related to production processes and equipment.
  • Serve as a communication link between internal teams and external partners regarding quality matters.
  • Establish and uphold quality standards to ensure consistency.
  • Prepare Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to address potential failure modes.
  • Participate in process audits to identify and resolve specific quality issues.
  • Document and communicate problem tracking activities and performance reports to monitor production quality.
  • Analyze performance data to identify improvement opportunities and develop action plans.
  • Coordinate with departments to ensure packaging trials meet quality requirements.
  • Mentor and train new engineers in a practical environment.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Office environment for four hours daily.
  • Manufacturing environment for four hours daily.
  • Occasional travel may be required for training or essential functions.
  • Overtime may be necessary to meet production deadlines.

POTENTIAL HAZARDS:

This position may involve exposure to:

  • Chemicals, noise, and heat.
  • Moving mechanical parts.
  • Moderate noise levels; hearing protection may be required in specific areas.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • 3-6 years of experience for Engineer II, 4-7 years for Engineer III in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience in quality functions within the automotive supply industry.
  • Familiarity with Just-In-Time (JIT) manufacturing preferred.
  • Proficient in quality tools such as FMEA, capability studies, and GD&T.
  • Experience with plastic injection molding processes and process improvement is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9000 and AIAG standards is essential.
