Business Development Manager

As a Business Development Manager at McCarthy Building, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining business relationships with potential clients, identifying and pursuing new opportunities, and working closely with senior business development personnel and division leaders to drive business growth.
Main Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute business development strategies to identify and pursue new opportunities in the commercial construction industry.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with potential clients, including researching and analyzing target market sectors, utilizing databases to record sales contacts and opportunities, and preparing for initial contact at various levels in potential customer organizations.
• Collaborate with other groups within the company to implement appropriate strategies to address business opportunities and overcome obstacles, ensuring that the BD team is involved in pivotal points and aware of significant developments.
• Manage and forecast sales pipeline, qualifying potential opportunities early in the sales cycle, updating lead/contact management system to track progress, and reviewing opportunities with manager to determine priority and decision on pursuit.
Requirements:
• BA/BS degree and 3-5 years of experience within the construction industry.
• Specific experience in commercial construction industry within our core market sectors a plus.
• Willing to learn and understand McCarthy's market sectors and differentiators.
• Track record of success in past roles.
• Developing business acumen (financially and operationally).
• Clear understanding of primary industry delivery models.
• Proactive and execution-oriented in his/her approach to business development.
• Quick study of business development process (identification, qualification, capture and bid activities).
• Demonstrated collaborative team leadership and team building characteristics.
• Ability to influence up to senior levels in organizations (peers, customers, partners and within and outside of the company).
• Excellent communication skills - is a good listener.

For California locations only, the salary range for this position is: $140,000-$165,000, depending on location. This does not include possible bonus and other benefits which can impact total compensation.
