Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance and Food Safety Technician to join our team at Bento Sushi. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring food safety policies are adhered to and product quality standards are met in our Food Manufacturing Plant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist front-line supervisory staff in ensuring adherence to GMP and HACCP program compliance.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes and facilities meet quality standards with emphasis on product safety, sanitation, environmental awareness, and customer satisfaction.
  • Perform routine audits in the plant and warehouse to ensure company standards are met.
  • Responsible for food safety and quality control training classes and schedules.
  • Responsible for HACCP records keeping, review, verification, and corrective actions.
  • Collect and send microbiological and chemical samples for lab testing and verify results comply with standards.
  • Ensure supplier information is updated and materials received follow company's QA standards.
  • Perform audits of the factory, including daily pre-operational checks and internal audits.
  • Conduct in-depth investigations to assist in resolving non-compliant product or practice.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in Food Science, Chemistry, Public Health, or Biological Science.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards.
  • HACCP plant experience is an asset.
  • Previous leadership experience in a Food Processing facility.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and pressure.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Bilingual - English/Spanish an asset.
