The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will operate with comprehensive authority and accountability. The CEO will uphold the NAMI standard of excellence while overseeing programs, coordinating volunteers, supporting existing affiliates, and fostering the development of new affiliates in Wyoming. Key responsibilities include fundraising through grant applications, organizing fundraising events such as NAMIWalks, and implementing marketing strategies.
The CEO will be proactive, demonstrating a strong work ethic and initiative. This individual will embody personal qualities such as integrity, confidence, dedication to the mission of enhancing the lives of others, self-motivation, and a passion for the work, while also being open to guidance as necessary. A personal connection to mental health challenges is preferred. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional interpersonal skills, volunteer management capabilities, and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups. This role demands outstanding organizational and time management skills, along with the capacity to juggle multiple priorities. Experience in the non-profit sector and proficiency in budget management are essential.
Key Responsibilities- Attend all NAMI WY Board meetings and provide monthly reports on activities and achievements.
- Ensure adherence to NAMI Standards of Excellence in all operations and promote these standards in interactions with affiliates.
- Collaborate with the Board to formulate a strategic plan and revise the mission statement as necessary to implement the strategic plan.
- Coordinate NAMIWalks and other marketing and fundraising initiatives.
- Oversee the design, marketing, promotion, delivery, and quality of programs, products, and services by supporting local affiliates, coordinating membership efforts, establishing evaluation plans, and developing new programs to achieve objectives.
- Manage organizational resources by proposing an annual budget for Board approval, overseeing the fiscal management of grants and contracts, and assisting the treasurer in developing and enforcing effective policies.
- Engage in advocacy by collaborating with the legislative committee to establish legislative goals and strategies, working with other mental health organizations on legislative matters, supervising lobbyist activities, and participating in coalitions.
- Ensure that the organization and its mission, programs, products, and services are consistently represented in a strong positive light by acting as the chief spokesperson, developing and executing strategies to enhance awareness of NAMI and its initiatives, and improving public perceptions of mental health.
- Work with the Board to secure adequate funding for the organization through grant writing and planning and executing annual fundraising events.
Salary: Starting at $55,000.
Travel Requirements: The incumbent is expected to travel around the state approximately once or twice per month for one or two days.
Preferred Education/Experience: A bachelor's degree in social sciences, business, management, or a related field, along with experience in the non-profit sector, including program management and marketing.
