Our University Advancement team is committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture that supports the university's mission and values. We are seeking an experienced gift planning professional to join our team as a Strategic Director of Philanthropic Partnerships.

This role will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive fundraising strategies to secure planned gifts from high-net-worth individuals and organizations. You will work closely with faculty, staff, and stakeholders to identify, cultivate, and solicit gifts that support the university's Advancing Health initiatives.

We are looking for a seasoned professional with a proven track record of success in gift planning, preferably at a complex research university. You should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as a strong ability to build relationships and collaborate with others.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of experience in gift planning, with 6 or more years of experience in major campaign, fundraising, and senior volunteer group management. Significant knowledge of gift planning vehicles, tax accounting, and legal requirements is also essential.

We offer a competitive salary range of $225,000 - $270,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Additionally, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, tuition benefits, and access to professional development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Raise principal gift level planned gifts towards Advancing Health
  • Partner with university faculty and advancement leaders to align and organize multi-disciplinary stakeholders
  • Serve as a key advancement partner to the Keck School of Medicine at USC and across USC in the areas related to Advancing Health
  • Develop and manage a portfolio of approximately 50 principal gift level planned giving prospects
  • Work independently and collaboratively with the University Advancement team, Keck School of Medicine at USC, and academic units/program across USC in the areas related to Advancing Health

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in gift planning
  • 6 or more years of experience in major campaign, fundraising, and senior volunteer group management
  • Significant knowledge of gift planning vehicles, tax accounting, and legal requirements

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • Master's or J.D. degree and/or relevant professional certifications
  • 15 years of experience in gift planning
  • 10 or more years of experience in major campaign, fundraising, and senior volunteer group management
