Position: School-Based Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)

Location: El Monte, California

Soliant is collaborating with a reputable educational institution in El Monte to recruit a dedicated SLPA for the remainder of the academic year. The selected candidate will work under the guidance of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to deliver both individual and group therapy to students facing speech and language challenges.

Key Details:

  • Full-time commitment, 35 hours per week guaranteed
  • Mixed caseload encompassing Preschool and K-6 students
  • Preference for candidates who are bilingual in Spanish, though this is not a requirement

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the evaluation of speech and language abilities to pinpoint students' strengths and areas needing improvement
  • Execute treatment strategies devised by the licensed Speech-Language Pathologist
  • Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions aimed at enhancing articulation, language understanding, and overall communication skills
  • Work collaboratively with educators, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal care for each student
  • Maintain precise and current records of therapy sessions, progress notes, and treatment plans
  • Engage in professional development opportunities, including meetings and workshops, to stay updated on the latest therapeutic techniques and best practices

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology or a related discipline is required
  • Possession of an active California SLPA License is mandatory
  • Experience with school-aged children experiencing speech and language disorders is preferred
  • Familiarity with various treatment methodologies, including AAC, PROMPT, and social communication strategies
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with other professionals, educators, and families
  • Capability to maintain organized records, manage time efficiently, and prioritize responsibilities
