POSITION SUMMARY

This role is dedicated to assisting our team of labeling experts in the creation, maintenance, and assurance of compliance for product labeling information, which encompasses nutrition facts, ingredient lists, allergen disclosures, and product claims.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of FDA and USDA regulations along with General Mills' internal policies.
  • Evaluate the effects of product reformulations on labels, including a thorough review of nutrition, ingredient, allergen, and claim details.
  • Create and uphold documentation for regulatory and internal substantiation needs.
  • Assist in the substantiation and validation processes for labeling and claims.
  • Craft and communicate responses for consumer and customer inquiries related to labeling.
  • Participate in the review and approval of artwork, packaging, graphics, and text for current and proposed product labels to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with regulations.
  • Collaborate closely with members of the Labeling & Regulatory Compliance team to support various projects and business initiatives.
  • Contribute to regulatory projects, including the maintenance of metrics and data.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or a related discipline.
  • 1-3 years of pertinent experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities, with a comfort in supporting team dynamics.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking capabilities.
  • Proficient in computer skills and system navigation.
  • Project Management: Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, strong follow-up skills, and adeptness in multitasking and prioritization to meet deadlines.
  • Proactive in expanding knowledge and expertise.
  • Interest in acquiring technical knowledge regarding labeling and nutrition regulations.
