Position Overview:

Ogletree Deakins is seeking a skilled Conflicts Specialist to become a vital member of our expanding practice. This role is part of the Conflicts Group, a dedicated unit within the Client Information Risk Services (CIRS) department. The primary responsibility involves conducting thorough conflict-of-interest searches utilizing the firm's electronic conflicts checking system to identify potential conflicts. The specialist will also perform data integrity assessments to ensure the quality and accuracy of the information used in these checks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute a variety of conflict searches efficiently, utilizing the firm's conflicts database.
  • Analyze all data submitted for conflict checks, ensuring its quality and integrity.
  • Review relevant legal documents accompanying new business forms to comprehend the nature of the work and involved parties.
  • Communicate effectively with data providers to clarify any incomplete or ambiguous information.
  • Conduct corporate family research as necessary.
  • Evaluate search results and determine their relevance for inclusion in conflict reports, summarizing key issues as needed.
  • Collaborate with requesting attorneys and relationship attorneys to resolve conflicts.
  • Provide guidance to legal staff on interpreting conflict search reports.
  • Engage with team members to maintain high standards of service and professionalism.
  • Report emerging issues to the Conflicts Supervisor or Senior Manager promptly.
  • Support daily operations and functions within the Conflicts Group.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to team projects.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned.
