About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Correspondence and Dispute Resolution Specialist II to join our team at Shellpoint Mortgage Servicing. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for handling Qualified Written Requests and resolving disputes and complaints from borrowers or their authorized representatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Dispute Resolution: Review and research written disputes and complaints, identify root causes, and execute plans of action for resolution.
  • Account Resolution: Ensure necessary actions and corrections are made to accounts to resolve disputes and complaints.
  • Communication: Compose written responses to borrowers or their authorized representatives, providing final resolution.
  • Credit Reporting: Submit updates to credit reporting agencies as needed to resolve credit disputes.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Become a subject matter expert in at least one main area of Homeowner Advocacy Dispute classes.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 2-4 years of mortgage servicing experience, with at least 1 year of demonstrated quality and productivity performance in the Homeowner Advocacy Department.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Industry Knowledge: Excellent understanding of mortgage servicing industry, escrow, payment application, fees, credit reporting, bankruptcy, foreclosure, and loss mitigation.
  • Communication Skills: Good written communication skills, including grammar, spelling, punctuation, and sentence structure.
  • Research Skills: Excellent research skills required.
  • Technical Skills: Intermediate knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, and familiarity with mortgage servicing systems.
