Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Customer Service Specialist to join our team at Big Y. As a key member of our sales floor team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, operating a cash register, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, respond to customer inquiries, and resolve customer complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Cash Handling: Operate a cash register, process customer transactions, and handle customer payments accurately and efficiently.
  • Store Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized store environment, restock shelves, and perform other tasks as needed to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with other team members to achieve sales goals, provide support, and maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Training and Development: Participate in training and development programs to improve customer service skills, product knowledge, and sales techniques.
Requirements:
  • Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with customers, colleagues, and management.
  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in cash handling, customer service, and store maintenance tasks.
  • Flexibility: Be flexible and adaptable to changing store conditions, customer needs, and sales goals.
  • Teamwork: Demonstrate a positive and collaborative attitude, working effectively with other team members to achieve sales goals and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; prior retail or customer service experience preferred.
